Long Set Beach on Koh Rong

Long Set Beach offers a quieter stretch of Koh Rong's coast within walking distance of the village. Here's how to get there, where to stay and what to expect.

In this guide

Long Set Beach is one of Koh Rong's most popular escapes from the busy village of Koh Touch. A long curve of pale sand backed by trees, it offers a calmer atmosphere while staying close enough to the village for food, supplies and the occasional night out.

What it's like

The beach is long and wide, with soft sand and clear water in good weather. Accommodation and restaurants are spread out along it, so it rarely feels crowded. The water is generally calm in the dry season, making it good for swimming and paddling.

Getting there

From Koh Touch, you can walk along the coast and over a headland, which takes around 20 to 30 minutes. In the heat or at night, many people take a tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi along the road. Some accommodation can also arrange boat transfers.

Where to stay

Long Set has a mix of bungalows, guesthouses and small resorts, from simple to mid-range. Staying here gives you quieter nights than in the village while keeping its restaurants and dive shops within reach.

What to do

  • Swim and relax: the main attraction.
  • Kayak or paddleboard: some places rent equipment.
  • Walk the coast towards quieter coves at either end of the beach.
  • Watch the sunrise: the beach faces roughly east.
  • Look for plankton: on dark nights, the water may sparkle.

Eating and drinking

Several beachside restaurants serve Khmer food, seafood and Western dishes. For more choice, walk or ride to Koh Touch.

Tips

  • Bring a head torch for walking back at night.
  • Expect sandflies at times, especially near dusk; insect repellent helps.
  • The beach can collect litter after storms; many businesses organise clean-ups.
  • Carry cash, as card payments are not accepted everywhere.

Who it suits

Long Set is ideal for travellers who want a beach holiday with easy access to Koh Rong's social life, without staying in the middle of it.
