A busy border district where Cambodia meets Vietnam at the Bavet–Moc Bai crossing. Bavet itself is a 24-hour casino and duty-free boomtown packed with neon towers and Vietnamese shoppers. Beyond the lights, quiet rice fields and traditional Khmer villages offer a sudden, peaceful contrast.
3. Kampong Rou District
Classic Cambodian countryside of endless rice paddies, sugar-palm trees, and ox-carts. The district is famous for its sweet pomelo orchards and traditional Khmer noodle makers who still use wooden presses. Quiet pagodas and morning glory fields make it perfect for slow bicycle rides.
4. Romeas Haek District
Home to the atmospheric Prasat Romeas, a little-visited Angkorian brick temple hidden among sugar-palm groves. The surrounding plains burst with lotus flowers in the rainy season, and local families still worship at ancient spirit houses beside the ruins.

A fertile agricultural heartland dotted with sacred hills and ancient ponds. The gentle landscape is ideal for cycling past traditional wooden houses on stilts and small pagodas where monks bless travellers with holy water. Locals are known for their spicy prahok (fermented fish paste).
6. Svay Chrum District
The northernmost district, where red-dirt roads wind past silk-weaving villages and ancient brick prasats half-swallowed by jungle. The quiet countryside feels timeless—water buffalo, conical hats, and children flying kites in the rice fields at sunset.
7. Svay Teab District
A border district with Vietnam famous for its bustling markets and cross-border trade. The flat terrain is perfect for long bicycle rides past lotus farms and traditional Khmer wedding halls that host weekend parties with live pinpeat music.
8. Bavet City (Municipal District)
Cambodia’s Las Vegas on the Vietnamese border. Dozens of glittering casinos, duty-free malls, and 24-hour nightlife draw gamblers and shoppers from Ho Chi Minh City. Beyond the neon, quiet rice fields and traditional Khmer villages offer a sudden, peaceful contrast.
